Posted 8 months ago I am going to Senegal (western Africa) in a week. I will meet women's organizations, visit a school and bring them supplies, do a safari, go the the Goree island which is from where many slaves were sent to the US. I can't wait to report when I am back. Anyone else has a trip to share? |

Posted 8 months ago One of my most memorable trips has been to Italy, this past summer. I was completely mesmerized by the Amalfi Coast and would run off and live in Rome any day. I am learning Italian so it was great to be able to speak to the locals, visit monuments that I have only read about, and stand where history was made. _ho lasciato il mio cuore in italia!_

Posted 8 months ago One of my most memorable vacations was last spring my daughter and I went to NYC. I have to admit I didn't know what to expect. I totally loved it. We only had 4 days there and that was not nearly enough. Loved Broadway and Times Square. I want to go back and spend more time there. Went out to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. That was really cool. The place that was really hard was ground zero. I had the weirdest feeling there. It is so hard to explain. It was very emotional. Some of the best food especially in Little Italy. It was one of the best vacations because I got to realize how much my daughter and I are really alike. I hope this is just the beginning of many adventures I take with her.

Posted 8 months ago On of my best trips was to Tokyo and Hong Kong two years ago. In Tokyo it was such a peaceful and soul searching environment for me. I enjoyed the gardens and shrines. I also found that Tokyo is very metropolitan. I would love the opportunity to go back to Japan and explore beyond the tourist areas.

Posted 6 months ago My husband and I are currently planning a trip and are undecided right now. We are considering Ireland or Italy. We have been told Italy is a bit expensive right now because of the week dollar. We would love feedback and advice to help us decide on the perfect trip for us. We would like to go either go the end of June or very beginning of September. We enjoy sight seeing at a relaxed pace, he wants to play at least a round of golf and we want to experience the true culture and mingle with the "natives". Would love to hear from you!

Posted 6 months ago Denise, Although I haven't made it to Ireland yet, my mother is actually going around the end of June - I think they're planning on it being a fairly expensive trip as well, so beware! If you went to Italy, where would you be staying? I think it's a lot more pricey (and touristy) in Rome and Venice during those times - it might be worth looking into a side-quest to Milan or Florence - change of scenery and better food await you.

Posted 6 months ago I'm preparing for a cruise in mid-month. I will be on a Royal Caribbean ship cruising from Puerto Rico to San Francisco through the Panama Canal. The best part of the cruise is that I am working as a watercolorist on the ship..I will teach 6-8 watercolor lessons to passengers who sign up for it...a new exciting adventure. Anyone have any suggestions for things see?

Posted 6 months ago In October 2007 I visited the Outer Banks of NC for the first time (I've lived in NC >20 years)......I went to the Wright Brother's Museum and learned that Nag's Head, Kittyhawk & Kill Devil Hills are all less than a 'stone's throw' from one another.......The property I stayed in was truly 'beachfront'......I got to go to sleeo to the sound of ocean waves......It was a fabulous and Low Key trip.

Posted 5 months ago My last travel-place was a year abroad in London, Europe. It was Awesome. I really loved the people that I met, the history, and fresh food! Their fast food places were horrid, though. The McDonalds, Burger Kings... were very dry and a bit tasteless. I'm not a Fastfood Junkey, it was just a very interesting discovery. --- I'm hoping to make another trip to visit some friends, this summer. Some other places that I'd also looove to venture through are: Spain, The Greek Islands, Egypt, Paris, Amsterdam, Brazil, Austrailia, Japan, China, Ireland,... Ahhhhh... (daydreaming...) ~Cheers~ ~Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.*

| Posted 5 months ago My next travel destination is India. My ex-boyfriend, with whom I am very good friends is moving there to work at a sustainable architecture firm and I finally have no excuses not to go. Next time I get the chance to skip from work for two weeks, I'm flying to Bombay to hit up all the country has to offer :) Daniela

Posted 5 months ago My last travel destination was Lyon, France. It was pretty drab. I went this past Oct ; the weather was cold and windy! The weatherman was forecasting 60's, sunny and pleasant--HA! It did not feel like a DC sunny, pleasant 60 degree day. I did not bring an overcoat so I was a popsicle the entire week! The people were nice, the architecture is breathtaking and their clothes are really tiny! I went shopping at the mall and everything ran really narrow. So if you are ever there and you are really slim with no curves, you will be fine! The food was so so; I did learn that the French eat bone marrow. I saw a family feasting on bones and spooning the marrow onto french bread. The desserts are awesome! I think I lived on lamb and desserts for the week! It was a great experience.

Posted 4 months ago Hello all, my favorite trip recently has been visiting Washington D.C. I really enjoyed the buildings, the monuments and my favorite, the Jefferson Memorial. What an incredible man he was. Also, last year I went to visit friends in Long Island which was fun but didn't really do any site seeing, I want to go see NY this year. Now that we live on the East Coast I am hoping to see a lot of it in the next couple of years.

Posted 4 months ago My best trip ever? Two weeks in South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia with my husband and kids. It was such a breath of fresh air in so many ways. Highly recommended. Absolutely breath-taking. My next trip? Probably some unexciting visit to family elsewhere in the country. But my next dream trip, I hope, will take me to the Galapagos. My husband is a biologist and spent a lot of time there as a PhD student -- he's been raving about it for years. I'd love to see it with my own eyes!

Posted 4 months ago Last summer I took a weekend and meet up with my husband in Key West. No kids, just me and him!! It was wonderful. I was so sad we only had a weekend but we did make the most of every moment. The art galleries are wonderful and I've got a long list of things I want to do next time I can go. We were supposed to go back this year and take oldest daughter as a High School Graduation Gift but that bombed out when I lost my job. She understands and I've promised her we'll take her next year.

Posted 4 months ago Latest trip? Work related but lots of fun anyway. I spent two weeks in between London, Paris and Germany. Loved it! Don't know that I would have made it to Europe on my own.

Posted 3 months ago Last trip was in April to Irleland with my two sisters. Outstanding-what an adventure tracking down family roots! Best food trip ever was to New Orleans years ago. Best fresh air trip: Hawaii. best kids trip: Disney World -cliche, but true. Best romance trip: French Riviera to Monoaco to Italian Riviera (ahhhh....Santa Margarita...) then finishing in Venice..... When along came kids #4 and #5- trips became less frequent.... That many kids is a "trip" in itself!!

Posted 3 months ago We spent 10 days in France at the base of the Cote d'Azur. The area was amazing. We traveled by bus or walked to our destinations and took the high speed train to Paris. Because of all of the walking, I only gained two pounds despite sampling the local foods.

Posted 3 months ago We have taken many trips this past year, due to the fact we live in Italy. We are stationed here and will be moving to DC this summer. Our favorite trip so far was to Egypt. Seeing the pictures of the National Geographic come alive was absolutely the best life experience we will ever have! We went into one of the pyramids, saw many many sites. It was just an amazing cultural experience. We have also traveled to Croatia, Ireland, Germany, Paris, Greece, and all through Italy: Venice, Florence, Milan, Rome, Cinque Terre, Pisa. Our trips have been a lifetime experience, and we thank God for all the beauty he has created! If anyone is needing advice on travels to Italy, please let me know. We have lived here for 3 years and know a little about a little! Carissa and Family
